The Artist
I have worked as a Houston, Texas artist / illustrator for over
32 years. Original art commissioned for clients such as American
Airlines, American Indemnity Insurance, SYSCO Foods, Brinker International,
Tandy/RadioShack, Pennzoil, Service Corporation International,
Stewart Title, Oceaneering International and Baker Hughes to name
a few have allowed me to polish my skills over the years to become
a well known Houston, Texas artist. Only recently have I decided
to offer my illustrations for sale in the form of illustration
prints or fine art giclee prints.
I grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana, an artist from the beginning,
having been blessed with the natural talent for art. My practice
as an artist, throughout my early school years as well as formal
schooling at McNeese State University, has enabled me to create
unique and original pieces of art with a variety of subject matters
and mediums. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in fine arts
with a major in painting and sculpture.
The Art Prints
I work in a mixture of mediums; whatever it takes to make an
original and unique piece of artwork. This would include acrylics,
dyes, watercolor, permanent marker, Prismacolor pencil, or pen
and ink. Many of my works contain a great deal of attention to
detail; the use of textures, the play of shadow and light along
with subtle variations of earthy muted colors, tones and hues.
Research from real life, photos and sketches help me to attain
this high level of detail and realism in many of my illustration
prints.
Inspiration
Many of my illustrations for sale were inspired by my personal
appreciation and love of wildlife, travel, water sports, outdoors
and fishing. A great fascination of sports cars and anything mechanical
may explain why I strive for so much detail that is inherent in
much of my artwork. Residing in Houston, Texas affords me the
opportunity to spend time on the Gulf of Mexico to savor the seashore,
bays, bayous, aquatic life and waterfowl that it has to offer.
There is so much beauty and wonder out there in the world and
in everyday life to illustrate, that I only hope I’ll be
able to have the time to add to the collection of art prints for
sale as often as I would like.
